چکیده

This paper handles the problem of detecting signals with known form and structure and unknown or random amplitude and phase in the presence of compound-Gaussian noise with known spectral density in remote sensing systems. The generalized detector (GA) based on the generalized approach to signal processing (GASP) in noise is investigated in [1]–[5]. The structure of the GA detector is independent of the disturbance amplitude probability density. Based on this result, the threshold setting, which is itself independent on both the noise distribution and the signal parameters, ensures a constant false alarm rate (CFAR). The detection performance analysis shows that the GA detector outperforms the optimum Neyman-Pearson (NP) receiver and the conventional square-law detector. Key-Words: Generalized detector, Constant false alarm rate, Detection performance, Gaussian noise, Radar.

Adaptive Signal Detection in Auto-Regressive Interference with Gaussian Spectrum

A detector for the case of a radar target with known Doppler and unknown complex amplitude in complex Gaussian noise with unknown parameters has been derived. The detector assumes that the noise is an Auto-Regressive (AR) process with Gaussian autocorrelation function which is a suitable model for ground clutter in most scenarios involving airborne radars. The detector estimates the unknown...

Generalized Detector under Nonorthogonal Multipulse Modulation in Remote Sensing Systems

We develop the minimum mean-squared-error (MMSE) multiuser generalized detector for nonorthogonal multipulse modulation in wireless sensor networks employed by remote sensing systems over the noncoherent additive white Gaussian noise channel. The generalized detector (GD) is constructed based on the generalized approach to signal processing in the presence of noise. We analyze the asymptotic pe...

Diversity Detection in Non-Gaussian Noise over Fading Channels by Generalized Detector

In this paper, we consider the problem of M-ary signal detection based on the generalized approach to signal processing (GASP) in noise over a single-input multiple-output (SIMO) channel affected by the frequency-dispersive Rayleigh distributed fading and corrupted by the additive non-Gaussian noise modelled as spherically invariant random process. We derive both the optimum generalized detecto...

Design of Optimal Waveforms in MIMO Radar Systems Based on the Generalized Approach to Signal Processing

We consider the problem of waveform design for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar systems employing the generalized detector that is constructed based on the generalized approach to signal processing in noise. We investigate the case of an extended target and without limiting ourselves to orthogonal waveforms. Instead, we develop a procedure to design the optimal waveform that maximize...

Adaptive Detection of Range-Spread Targets in Gaussian Noise Using the Generalized Detector

In this paper, we address an adaptive detection of range-spread targets or targets embedded in Gaussian noise with unknown covariance matrix by the generalized detector (GD) based on the generalized approach to signal processing (GASP) in noise. We assume that cells or secondary data that are free of signal components are available. Those secondary data are supposed to process either the same c...
